Ms I. Maciuleviciute from Lithuania has won M.Worner Junior Essay Award

Ms Ieva Maciuleviciute from Lithuania has won 2006 – 2007 M.Worner Junior Essay Award 

The Selection Committee reviewed fifty applications and chose the essay submitted by Ms I.Maciuleviciute „Does the ‚open door‘ rhetoric of NATO‘s approach to enlargement mean that Russia could and should be encouraged to join the Alliance“? as a winner of the competition.

 

The Junior NATO Manfred Wörner Essay Award Competition is open to academics, researchers and writers from both NATO and Partner countries, aged between 20 and 35. Applicants for the Junior NATO Manfred Wörner Essay Award must be citizens of the EAPC countries.

 

The EAPC brings together a total of 49 countries – 26 NATO member and 23 Partner countries – in a multilateral forum.

The Junior NATO Manfred Wörner Essay Award was organised by the NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division. The main purpose of the Award is to honour the memory of the late Secretary General of NATO and his leading role in the transformation of the Alliance at the end of the Cold War.
