Lithuanian Ambassador visited Georgia

  Lithuanian Ambassador to NATO Linas Linkevičius together with several other North Atlantic Council Ambassadors visited Georgia and participated in the activities of the NATO week on October 21-22.   A NATO PfP Trust Fund for Explosive Remnants of War and Medical Rehabilitation Support to Georgia was opened during the NATO week. The Project is aimed at strengthening the ERW Clearance and the Victim Assistance pillars of Georgia’s ERW/Mine Action programme. Lithuania is one of the nations that initiated the Project and that is now co-leading the Trust Fund.                           Ambassador L. Linkevičius also participated in discussions with the Georgian NGOs, representatives of the national minorities. He visited the Krtsanisi training centre and the Rescue base of the Ministry of Interior. The NAC Ambassadors were met by the Vice Prime-Minister of Georgia G. Baramidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs G. Vashadze, State Minister on Reintegration Issues T. Yakobishvili, and the Chairman of the Parliament D. Bakradze.
