EAPC workshop on environmental security in the Baltic Sea Region takes place in Vilnius

  On 7 May  EAPC workshop "Risks Assesment and Environmental Security in the Baltic Sea Region"  took place at Lithuanian Academy of Sciences in Vilnius. The workshop was initiated by  NATO Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) and NATO Science for Peace and Security Committee. Scientists from Belarus, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Russia discussed the researches carried out in the Baltic Sea environment protection area as well as possible environmental risks arising in the Baltic Sea region. The seminar is organized by NATO Science for Peace and Security Committee in together with Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, and Kaunas University of Technology. Introductory remarks were made by professor Vytautas Ostaševičius, Lithuania’s representative on the NATO Committee on Science for Peace and Security and Lithuania‘s ambassador on the North Atlantic Council Mr. Linas Linkevičius.
