Ambassador of Lithuania to NATO has started his duties as the Dean
This summer Ambassador of Lithuania to NATO Mr. Linas Linkevičius has started his duties as the Dean of the North Atlantic Council. This duty is given to the longest serving, thus most experienced, Permanent Representative on the NAC. The Dean has a special responsibility to represent, if needed, the views of the whole North Atlantic Council to the Third Parties, he also has a priority of speech. Ambassador Linas Linkevičius was appointed Permanent Representative on the North Atlantic Council in July 2005. He had assumed the same position between 1997 and 2000. 1993 thru 1997 and 2000 thru 2004 Mr. Linkevičius served as the Lithuanian Minister of Defence.
